4 unpainted resin miniatures 28 mm scale of the 6 pounds Alger "Cadet gun" with the oval seal of the commonwealth of Virgina on the barrel.

In 1850 the Virginia Military Institute recieved four Alger 6 pounds guns which were used for the cadet's artillery instruction. Maj. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson used this guns for over 10 years before the civil war, to tach artillery tactics to the future officers of the VMI.
The singular red carriages were adopted upon request of  the Adjutant General of Virginia, so that whenever the cadets were on parade, the public would instantly identify the cannon as the VMI Cadet Battery.

At the start of the Civil War the guns were turned over the the 1st Rockbridge Artillery. Tey saw their first action on July 2, 1861 at Falling Waters and later at the Battle of First Bull Run. The guns also accompanied the Stonewall Brigade on the winter campaign to Romney, WV, and were heavily engaged in Jackson's famous spring 1862 Shenandoah Valley campaign.
