This was a Celtiberian from the Iberia Peninsula adopted from the Carthaginians, probably after the conquest of Carthago Nova (today Carthagena) in the year 209 B.C. by Publius Cornelius Scipio, the future Africanus.
The model presented has the pommel decorated with a trefoil as it was seen in some archeological records.
